Back to School
Up until a few years ago, parents had to buy school uniforms from specialist shops or direct from the school. Now many major retailers have school wear departments for boys and girls and are currently actively running “back to school” uniform campaigns on TV and in store.
Retailers like ASDA, M&S, Tesco and Sainsbury’s provide a competitive one stop shop for your children’s school clothing whatever your budget.
School Uniform items available include coats and jackets, dresses, jumpers and cardigans, pinafores, polo shirts, shirts and blouses, skirts, trousers, socks and tights, underwear, not forgetting shoes and sportswear. You can also view the variety of styles and sizes online. Most retailers cater for children sizes aged 3 to 16 years and it is easy to mix and match the clothes with personalised school labelled polo and t-shirts.
We have had trawl through soem of the early Back to School campaigns and here are our findings:-

Prices start from £2 for girl’s tops and boy’s shirts and come with a 100 day quality guarantee on their school clothing. ASDA offers free delivery on schoolwear when ordering on their easy to use website with a minimum spend of £10 and delivery is within 2 to 3 working days.

Labelling School Uniforms
Although many school clothes provide a label to write your child’s name, we all know from experience that we either forget to write it on or it fades quickly in the wash.
Simply Stuck provide a number of quality labelling solutions to help ensure your new purchases don’t go astray early in the new term.
Options include iron-on labels, woven labels, stickers and even shoe labels. The labels are easy to apply to the school uniform, are waterproof, and can be personalised to include your child’s name and their chosen picture motif.
Ordering is very easy via the Simply Stuck online shop and delivery is within 3 working days.

At the beginning of the Spring School term last year all the parents at our local school received the following note:-
“We encourage our children to be as independent as possible and show respect for their property by looking after it carefully. However, sometimes various items are misplaced or lost.
Those items that are lost and are named can be returned easily and quickly. Those items that are un-named are put in the Lost Property cupboard. At the end of last term we had over 100 items without homes and we would like to try and reunite as many items with their rightful owners.
The items of the Lost Property cupboard will be displayed at the start and end of every school day for the next two weeks . However, at the end of half term we will bundle up the unclaimed useful items and send them to a number of charitable organisations or add them to our stock of spare clothes.
Of course we would much rather that we return items to their rightful owners. PLEASE ensure your child’s things are clearly named and help us keep lost property down to a minimum.”
A friend of mine hadn’t seen a couple of items of her kids for a while so decided to pop down after school one day. She was staggered to see the amount of clothes that were there simply because they hadn’t been clearly labelled. Jumpers, gloves, scarves and even several single shoes!
Now that the weather is changing most of our children are wearing extra Winter layers so it is even more important to ensure that every clothing item is clearly labelled. We all spend a lot of money on keeping our kids wrapped up warm for the Winter so spending a few pounds on making sure their clothes come home is well worth it.

Well it is nearly the end of the term – just a few days to go now for most schools. Our kids are trying out with their new teachers today which makes you realise that the new term won’t be too far away now.
Whilst not wanting to wish the summer away, why not get organised now before your summer holidays and order your iron on labels for your school uniforms before the rush.
All of our iron-on labels are easy to apply and they stay in place during every wash. Our website over at SimplyStuck is so easy to use and will help you create personalised iron-on labels that your kids will love. Get them involved with choosing their favourite icons and colours, then just add their name.
We have listened to all of your comments and now offer a range of iron-on woven labels just like your Mother used to sew in! We have moved this traditional product into the 21st Century – no need for needle and cotton – just simply cut & iron. And if yours is one of those schools that insist on hand sewn woven labels, then cheat – iron these in & stitch the corners!
As you can guess, the summer holidays are actually a busy time for us, so why not beat the rush and order your uniform labels early.

We have had another busy week in our Andover office. Our Funky Woven Label range have been flying out the door – could be something to do with the new Asda advert for “All Age, Same Price” school uniforms.
I digress for a minute, but have you seen their prices? – a whole school outfit (consisting of a 100 per cent cotton polo shirt or Easy Iron shirt, 100 per cent cotton sweatshirt and Teflon coated trousers) for children aged three to 16 – all at the same price £4.75!! AMAZING!!
Anyway, back to the Funky Woven Iron-on Labels – these are a really nice new modern woven label, available in a range of colours. Simply iron-on and the last for ages, no matter how many times you was them.
We have a great little tool on the Simply Stuck website that allows you to choose a lable colour, the text colour and of course the text to go it. Our kids love playing with the different combinations you can have – so why not involve your children when placing your order.
Our iron-on labels are great for school uniforms or PE kit and they come in a batches of 100 so you won’t ever go short. Just £13.50 – great value.
