You can choose from the beautifully illustrated ‘animal alphabet‘ or the ‘fabulous fairy‘ collection.

The design is also available as a personalised bedroom door plate which measures 45cm long x 18cm high.

What a great first learning opportunity too for younger children as they memorise and spell out the letters of their own name using fun animal characters for letter recognition.

Christmas Address labels

Friday, November 13th, 2009

The Halloween party outfits and decorations have been packed away, bonfire night is out of the way and we turn our attention to plans for the festive season. With less than six weeks to Christmas Day, teachers are busy helping children create personalised Christmas cards, artwork for tea towels or school calendars. Children are busy making a list for Father Christmas and parents, especially mums, are making their ‘To-do’ lists.

Christmas can be a hectic time and the list of jobs seems endless - plan the Christmas meal, invite family, buy presents and attend nativity plays. As the date nears, other jobs on the list such as writing letters, cards and wrapping presents can end up rushed.

This is fun for children of all ages and an ideal job on a wet day - I wonder which they will choose for Santa’s card?

School Lost Property

School Lost Property

School Lost Property

At the beginning of the Spring School term last year all the parents at our local school received the following note:-

“We encourage our children to be as independent as possible and show respect for their property by looking after it carefully. However, sometimes various items are misplaced or lost.

Those items that are lost and are named can be returned easily and quickly. Those items that are un-named are put in the Lost Property cupboard. At the end of last term we had over 100 items without homes and we would like to try and reunite as many items with their rightful owners.

The items of the Lost Property cupboard will be displayed at the start and end of every school day for the next two weeks . However, at the end of half term we will bundle up the unclaimed useful items and send them to a number of charitable organisations or add them to our stock of spare clothes.

Of course we would much rather that we return items to their rightful owners. PLEASE ensure your child’s things are clearly named and help us keep lost property down to a minimum.”

A friend of mine hadn’t seen a couple of items of her kids for a while so decided to pop down after school one day. She was staggered to see the amount of clothes that were there simply because they hadn’t been clearly labelled. Jumpers, gloves, scarves and even several single shoes!

Now that the weather is changing most of our children are wearing extra Winter layers so it is even more important to ensure that every clothing item is clearly labelled. We all spend a lot of money on keeping our kids wrapped up warm for the Winter so spending a few pounds on making sure their clothes come home is well worth it.
